FGB Wins Jury Verdict In Police Misconduct Case That Leads To A Total Judgment In Excess Of $447,000  

On November 16, 2006, Flynn|Gaskins|Bennett attorneys Robert Bennett and Ryan Vettleson won a jury verdict in a civil rights/excessive force case heard in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis. The case, entitled King v. Turner, involved a fifty-one year old woman who suffered two wrist fractures and a dislocation when a sheriff's deputy used excessive force on her in a bingo hall where he had come to arrest her daughter on a bench warrant. The jury awarded compensatory as well as punitive damages, and on April 24, 2007, the Court awarded Plaintiff her attorney fees. The total judgment was in excess of $447,000.
