Flynn, Gaskins & Bennett Police Misconduct Group Settles a Sexual Assault Case By a Hubbard County Deputy For a Total Of $695,000

The case, entitled Barsch v. Siera, involved a woman who was sexually assaulted by a predatory Hubbard County Deputy. On report of this criminal activity, the Akeley Police Department failed to properly report the victim’s allegations to county authorities or the BCA or to investigate the matter. The City of Akeley settled early on in the case for $55,000 and Hubbard County, which was defending and indemnifying the deputy, settled for $640,000. Robert Bennett and Ashley Wenger handled the case for Flynn, Gaskins & Bennett.
